This learning unit presents tools of Strategic Corporate Management and illustrates their use based on case studies. How can companies identify promising product and market segments through scenario and branch analysis? Through which competitive strategies can you get advantages to a competitor? All this will be mediated in this learning unit. Moreover it demonstrates how companies can shape their value activities to successfully implement their corporate strategies. It is not only elaborated on the design of intern value activities, but also on the "make or buy question", as well as on the use of strategic alliances and other forms of enterprise cooperation. Finally, the learning unit thematizes how companies can implement their strategy. A particular emphasis is placed on the Concept of the Balanced Scorecard which will be discussed and implemented by means of case studies. This module is given in English.
