Objectives of the course and practical benefits: By attending the course, the participants learn how to recognise and evaluate the specific conditions to which companies are exposed in international markets and how to identify success factors for market entry and expansion strategies. The corporate functions e.g. production, finance or marketing are analyzed in an international environment. Special emphasis is put on the intercultural field.
The second part of the modul deals with an important strategic alternative of international expansion: at the end of the course the participants should be familiar with the possible structure, content and instruments of Mergers and Acquisitions, which are becoming increasingly important. Due to the rising importance of M&A, managers are more and more likely to come in contact with M&A-projects, either as initiators or as participants in specific stages of such projects. The direct practical benefits for the participants consist of (a) general information about this strategic alternative (b) methods for evaluating the risks of this strategy (c) tools to coordinate such a complex project and (d) instruments for efficient operationalisation in the most important steps of an M&A-project.
